LGBTQ+ Romances for Pride
June is always such a colorful, joyful month as we celebrate Pride! Now, you should always be reading queer books all year long, but it nice to prioritize them during pride month. When it comes to reading, it is so important to read books that you connect and relate to. But it also important to read books outside of ourselves. Non-fiction is great but representation in fiction and all forms of media are so equally important.
I hope these make it onto your Summer reading lists and that you enjoy them!
Chef’s Kiss, Chef’s Choice, Triple Sec all by TJ Alexander
As I’ve said before, I’m a professional TJ Alexander fangirl so I had to include all their books that are kind of summery, perfect for foodies, and set in NYC.
The Guncle by Steven Rowley
One of my favorites books of all time! This definitely blurs the line between general fiction and romance but the relationship between Patrick and his niece and nephew is so endearing.
Astrid Parker Doesn’t Fail by Ashley Herring Blake
My favorite in the Bright Falls series because I can relate to Astrid so much. It also has an HGTV/home renovation vibe that is so fun for the Summer.
That Summer Feeling by Bridget Morrissey
Adult Summer camp! I recommend this book a lot because it has a bi main character and explores coming out later in life, which is a very important and valid story to explore!
Finally Fitz by Marisa Kanter
This is a newer YA book that also has a bi main character and is so summery and captures that summer coming of age vibe that is so appealing.
Imogen, Obviously by Becky Albertalli
I love all of Becky Albertalli’s books but I think this one is her most personal, which adds to it’s vulnerability and tenderness. I also recommend Kate in Waiting!
The Fiancee Farce by Alexandria Bellefleur
This is another romance author that has companion series that accompany her books. I loved this one so much but if it isn’t your vibe, try the Written in the Stars series!
Mistakes Were Made by Meryl Wilsner
If you’re looking for a Romance that is queer and has an age gap romance, look no further than this!
The Romantic Agenda by Claire Kann
As an ally, I’ve been learning more and more about different kinds of love and connection. One that I haven’t read enough about is Ace so I will always recommend this book that has an Ace main character! It’s also summery and vacation-centric set at a lake house!
