The Beach Read Guide 2024
I promised to keep bringing the summer reading content coming! I shared a specific Beach Read Guide last summer so I wanted to add some books to that list! I love an atmospheric read, so these are all books that specifically are set at a beach. Now, a beach read is any book you choose to read at a beach! But if you like an atmospheric read where the setting is as much a character as who the story centers on, I think these will be some future favorites!
My favorite beach read so far this year has been The Paradise Problem. It really feels like Christina Lauren at their best and totally rivals The Unhoneymooners for me as a new top favorite of their books. In case you didn’t know, Christina Lauren is an author team!
The Paradise Problem by Christina Lauren
I think this might be my new favorite Christina Lauren book. It is a PERFECT beach read. It is fun, dramatic, has a gorgeous setting, is a little aspirational and you won’t be able to put it down. Perfect to finish in a day on vacation!
The Beautiful People by Michelle Gable
I love to read some summery historical fiction in the summertime and this is set in the 1960s in Palm Beach!
The Summer of Broken Rules by K.L. Walther
A big family wedding on Martha’s Vineyard, perfect for Swifties and anyone who wants to remember the nostalgia of falling in love during the Summer.
You Made a Fool of Death with Your Beauty by Akwaeke Emezi
This remains one of the most achingly romantic books I’ve read. It’s set on a gorgeous island as well!
Sweethand by N.G. Peltier
Another island setting, with a Summer wedding!
Island Time by Georgia Clark
An extended family gathers on a remote island off the coast of Australia and ends up stranded due to a severe weather event. Drama ensues!
The Catch by Amy Lea
If you’re looking for a beach read set in a location that’s a little different, I loved visiting the East Coast of Canada in this book!
A Perfect Vintage by Chelsea Fagan
Not quite a beach, but a sexy book set in the south of France that will have you craving an ice cold glass of wine.
Same Time Next Summer by Annabel Monaghan
It’s not the Hamptons but it is Long Island and this book is full of summer time nostalgia in a beach town.
