My Reading Experience.
Below you will find all of my reviews thus far! Looking for a specific book? Check out a comprehensive list of reviews here. But first, a little context for what I like to keep in mind as I write these reviews and what I’m looking for in a reading experience...
Character Authenticity
Are the characters fully formed and three-dimensional? Are they flawed? Is the romance believable?
Writing
Is the writing compelling? Does it make me want to keep picking up the book to read more?
Story
Regardless of whether it’s plot or character-driven, I need the story to suck me in and make me forget the world around me.
Trigger Warnings
I will always note anything I think might be sensitive for readers in my reviews. Trigger warnings are not spoilers!
Re-Readability
I love rereading books. Whether I’ll be revisiting one in the future is a great way for me to gauge whether a book will stay on my limited shelf space! #cityliving
Own Voices
I use star ratings but recognize their subjectivity. As I continue to work to make Read & Wright more inclusive, I will no longer be using star ratings for books not intended for me and instead will point to #OwnVoices reviews.
