April Bucket List

March was a month full of creativity and routine. I LOVED it and there’s so much I want to continue into April. I love this time of year. Just like the blooms, I come alive in the spring and this is when I want time to slow down. April is packed with travel, bridal and baby showers, a bachelorette, shows, and planning. Plus, Independent Bookstore Day is the last Saturday of the month, April 29! It’s the 10th anniversary of the evening, which is so exciting. it’s one of my favorite days of the year and I’ll be in South Carolina, so leave any recommendations for indie bookshops in Charleston!

  1. Redecorate/Redesign My Office

For a long time, I felt like I couldn’t make my space by own since we’re still renting. But after I had a vision for what my audience could look like, I decided that it’s time to make it happen. I love my home office/library that I affectionately call my Study and it deserves a little love.

  2. Prioritize My Night Routine

I got my morning routine in really good shape in March, giving me more productive and better days! I love the consistency and I want to bring that to my evenings as well.

  3. Find a New Independent Bookstore

I’ll be in Charleston for Independent Bookstore Day this year I’ve been a number of times but not with enough time to explore bookstores. I’m hoping to find one to celebrate!

  4. Celebrate our Two Year Anniversary

Our second wedding anniversary is April 30 and I’m hoping to do a little overnight trip to Toronto to celebrate. Our schedules are pretty packed right now so it may not happen until May, but I can’t wait!

  5. Plan Our Summer Garden

Our garden came to be in 2020 for the first time. It was an activity that gave Nick purpose when he wasn’t working due to the Broadway shutdown and we have since loved adding some greenery to our lives. Last year, I was SO busy doing Shakespeare in the Park that I wasn’t as committed to it. But this Summer is all about the garden.

  6. Finish Draft 2 of Writing Project

March was all about easing back into my writing routine. It felt so good to write and edit each morning. April is about fine tuning and working on the edits from the current draft I’m working on!

  7. Book Our Vacation

We haven’t gone on a real vacation (like a week long trip) since our mini moon two years ago. That is FAR TOO LONG. We’re finally going to make our honeymoon happen! I feel like I’ve said that a bunch…but we mean it!

  8. DIY Entertainment System

Along the same lines as my first goal for the month, I found a DIY I want to try for our currently entertainment unit. I loathe the one we have right now but Nick and I don’t both don’t want to invest in new pieces until we buy a house. So, I’m putting the hours i spend watching HGTV to good use and finally making an inexpensive change.

  9. Get Back in the Gym

I never prioritize the gym in the Winter. I really struggle with the darkness! But now that the sun is out later and up earlier, it will be time to start working it into my schedule.

  10. Read a Book in One Sitting

This is a goal I have every month and it’s gotten harder and harder, but with the right book I think I can make it happen, even with my busy schedule.
