April 2023 New Books Releases

I can practically taste Summer Reading season. April releases start to dip into those delicious seasonal reads that are perfectly paired with days at the beach, the pool, the lake, and vacation. This time of year, I love to read seasonally and crave those sunshiney Summer reads. While this assortment don’t all fall under that idea, a number of them do! Read on to find the new books I’m excited about out this month.

Romantic Comedy by Curtis Sittenfeld

A comedy writer who’s sworn off love meets a dreamy pop star. I anticipate this to be full of tropes and I can’t wait to read it! I have loved Sittenfeld’s backlist.

Camp Zero by Michelle Min Sterling

Set in a near future settlement in the north following the lives of the few survivors of climate change. This book is compared to Station Eleven which is an all time fav of mine!

A YA novel that is billed as Bridgerton meets The Count of Monte Cristo, color me intrigued 👀

A Whole Song and Dance by Sarvenaz Tash

I saw Broadway and knew I needed to read this one. It’s about an Iranian-American college freshman living a double life on Broadway. Sounds very Hannah Montana but with theatre!

Never Vacation With Your Ex by Emily Wibberly and Austin Sigmund-Brokka

I love this husband and wife author duo! This one is vaguely inspired by the movie Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Crazy Stupid Love!

The Do-Over by Suzanne Park

A second chance romance is my kryptonite and this sounds so fun! It’s about a woman who discovers she’s one credit shy from her college degree so she returns to school only to find her TA is her college boyfriend.

The Only Survivors by Megan Miranda

Yours Truly by Abby Jimenez

I LOVED THIS BOOK. I read it in March and it was so addicting. Definitely check the trigger warnings for it because it does get quite heavy, but it’s my first big five star read of the year!

Coach by Devney Perry

I love Devney Perry but I don’t always want to sign up to read a series. This is s standalone romance about a former football star! I’ve been missing football season so I can’t wait to read this.

Something Spectacular by Alexis Hall

If Only You by Chloe Lise

The Nanny by Lana Fergusun

All I know is that this book is marketed as incredibly spicy. Therefore, I must read it for research. And it’s single dad trope, so do with that what you will.

A wilderness retreat in Montana! A bear attack! A handyman! I want it all.

Morewood Family Rules by Helen Kay Dimon

I am a sucker for the “rich people behaving badly” trope and this also is akin to the film, Knives Out, which I loved!
