2022 Favorites: Movies + TV

As much as I love reading, I do love movies and TV shows as well. It’s fascinating to watch them from an actor’s perspective but it’s also one of our favorite things to do as a couple. These are mainly 2022 releases I enjoyed, but there are a couple shows and movies I caught up on this year. Would you believe it if I told you I’d never seen When Harry Met Sally until this past Fall?!

Standouts for the year have to be Abbott Elementary, Yellowstone, and The Summer I Turned Pretty. The Sex Lives of College Girls is a 2021 release but I rewatched TWICE in 2022 because I loved it so much.

And obviously, this list wouldn’t be complete without Harry and Meghan’s docuseries. I absolutely loved watching it and truly wish them nothing but the best. You can tell they truly love each other so much.

TV

Yellowstone—This put me into a small town era and has my brain twisted with who to root for each week.

The Summer I Turned Pretty—SUCH a good adaptation and the soundtrack, my god. So good.

The Sex Lives of College Girls—Watch. This. Show.

The Crown Season 5—It was so well done. I can’t pick a favorite episode!

Abbot Elementary—WATCH THIS SHOW.

Ted Lasso—I finally watched Ted Lasso and I get why everyone loves it. I loved it too.

Untold: The Manti Teo Documentary—I grew up in a big Notre Dame family so I remember this season like it was yesterday. This docu-series was heartbreaking.

The Big Brunch—This is a comfort show. I love Dan Levy so much.

The Lake—This is a big of an acquired taste but I really liked it!

Movies

The Wedding Season—The return of the Rom Com is upon us and this is a MUST watch.

Disenchanted—I didn’t love this sequel for what it was but it reminded me how special the original is.

When Harry Met Sally—I think You’ve Got Mail is better but the VIBES of this movie, my goodness.

The Noel Diary—A standout to add the Christmas collection!

Ticket to Paradise—I love Julia Roberts and George Clooney. Was it an hour too long? Yes. Did I love it anyway? Yes.

People We Hate at the Wedding—This is such a good movie and it’s based on a book!

What were your favorites of the year? What do I need to watch in 2023?
