Reading Playlists

On the podcast a few weeks ago, I mentioned that one of the things I do as an actor is create character playlists. I learned this from my friend Kathleen when she directed a show in college and thought it was fascinating. Basically, I make playlists for every character I play—what music are they bopping around the world listening to? It’s incredibly informative. 

Ashley has created some fantastic playlists themed to our favorite books! I put together one for The Simple Wild as well and though they’d be fun to share with you!

I think book playlists can just be so fun. There’s something about capturing the feeling of the book, especially once you’ve finished it. It’s an easy way to return to those feelings. I’m so glad Ashley reminded me that something I already do in my line of work can apply to this space too! 

What do you like to listen to when you’re reading? I used to need pure silence but now I’ve definitely been into classical/instrumental music. The Game of Thrones Score is perfect for epic reads. So is Downton Abbey!
