What I Read In January
What a fantastic month for reading! I read 13 books this month. That’s a record for me! I can’t really believe it. But I think it has made a difference that I didn’t make my Goodreads goal a crazy number. Now, I feel less pressure and have been prioritizing my review copies of books. And all around, it was a great month. Normally January feels like the longest month imaginable and it felt like that in a way, but it always was incredible productive and pleasant. I’m feeling really good about 2020!
What I Read:
Meg & Jo—3.5 Stars
American Dirt—Read my review here
Born a Crime by Trevor Noah—5 stars, a must read (listen—get the audiobook!)
My Best Friend’s Royal Wedding by Romy Sommer—3 Stars. Not for me, but could be fun for hardcore romance readers!
The Grace Year by Kim Liggett—3.5 Stars. I didn’t hate it, but it definitely didn’t stick with me the way I was hoping it would
Home Work: A Memoir of my Hollywood Years by Julie Andrews—3 stars. A delightful listen but could be dry if you read the physical copy. Plus, Julie narrates it!
Such a Fun Age by Kiley Reed—4.5 stars! Loved it! A must read.
The Only Plane in the Sky: An Oral History of 9/11 by Garrett M. Graff—5 Stars. Highly powerful.
Dear Edward by Ann Napolitano—3 Stars. I didn’t care for this one (sorry, Jenna! lol)
The Simple Wild by KA Tucker—4.5 Stars. Another one I loved!
Maybe You Should Talk to Someone by Lori Gottlieb—5 Stars. A must read!
Dear Girls by Ali Wong—4 Stars. Hilarious—listen to the audiobook!
The Worst Best Man by Mia Sosa—4 stars. A delightful surprise! A rom com that’s funny and steamy. Big fan!
