My June Bucket List

I shared my Summer Bucket List last week, which is the vibe I want to have for the next three months. But I always like to break things down into slightly more tangible goals one month at a time. I am so excited for this month. My teaching work wraps up early and I have time to catch up on things before camp starts. But I also have time to rest and recuperate and enjoy the start of Summer. Last year, a lot of June was plagued with poor air quality due to the Canadian wildfires. I hope that we don’t have that happen again this year! For everyone’s safety close to the fires but also because Summer is so short and I want to spend as much of it outside as possible.

  1. Read a Book in a Day

I haven’t done this in forever and it’s all I want to do as we begin my favorite season.

  2. Enjoy Vacation

We’re going on a trip to the ADKs and Vermont this month and I can’t wait! I really want to relax and enjoy this time since we haven’t been away in so long.

  3. Make One New Recipe from a Summertime Cookbook

I have been loving cooking so much. Since we joined our CSA, I’ve been so inspired by the summer offerings! I want to get back into cooking using my cookbooks.

  4. Have a Pool Day

I am ready to pack a cooler, all the sunscreen, and my books and enjoy the whole day by the pool. I feel so lucky that we access to a pool!

  5. Have a Beach Day

I went to the beach one day in May when it hit 80 degrees and it reminded me how much I love enjoying a day at the beach. It’s not my first choice (not the biggest fan of sand) but I love a few a season!

  6. Play Tennis

Now that I’m cleared for physical movement, I can’t wait to get back on the court! I want to play at least twice this month.

  7. Go on a Driving Range Date Night

One of my favorite date nights, especially if we go to an outdoor range. And even better if it’s followed by dinner or ice cream!

  8. Plant our Window Boxes

I miss caring our garden! 2023 was so busy but I used to love my mornings watering. it was such a calming way to start the day so I will definitely be getting back to it.

  9. Plan Writing Retreat

I am so excited for this experience. I truly can’t wait!

  10. Write Daily

Journaling, fiction, whatever. But I need to get back to being okay with my own thoughts.
