February Bucket List
Welcome, February! We did it! We survived the 173 days of January and the massive blizzard that shut down our area for a whole week. Woo! But a new month means time to start thinking about where I want to put my focus for February. We’re still leaning into hygge this Winter, so things are still going to be slow and gentle and cozy. But I do want to shake off the cobwebs of January and make February a bit more intentional.
Send Valentine’s/Galentine’s to Friends
I LOVE to send and receive mail. I want to send cute bookish valentine’s this year!
Read a Book in a Day
January was a rough month for my reading focus. It took me a long time to get into a good groove and I read one really long audiobook (50 hours!!!) that put me into a little bit of a slump because I enjoyed it, but I was ready to move on. So, I want to enjoy a cozy day and read a new book in a day with no distractions.
Continue a Low Buy Month
January was successful as a low buy month! There were definitely some days in there where I could have fallen into my habits of emotional spending (I got some very scary news) but I held strong and only purchases essentials or used gift cards!
Plan a Date Night
We have been loving going to the movies again for date nights! We saw Anyone But You in January and I loved it. There’s nothing more satisfying to me than choosing the movie and listening to my husband laugh during it. More Rom Coms please!
Book our Summer Vacation
We had a full week of treacherous snow—over 6 feet, driving bans, getting stuck at home—and while I do love Winter and a good snow day, I am ready to look forward to our week at the lake this Summer.
Try a New Recipe
My January recipe was the Broma Bakery Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies (have I mentioned them enough) and they were AMAZING. I want to try a new savory recipe this time.
Get Back into my Morning/Evening Routines
My mornings and evenings were ATROCIOUS last month. It’s a fine line between being gentle with myself and needing to push myself a little out of my comfort zone.
Writing Routine
My brain has been buzzing with ideas lately but I haven’t given myself any time to really dive into my stories. I need to give myself a schedule so that I can get all the ideas out finally!
Enjoy an Apres Ski
Due to some things going on behind the scenes, I can’t ski this Winter and I am SO sad. But that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy an Apres Ski (which is the best part after all). While Nick skis with some friends, I want to read a book and drink all the hot cocoa by the fire while I gaze at the views. Sounds pretty perfect to me.
Enforce Phone Boundaries
The scrolling is out of control. I am reaching for my phone constantly and I do not feel better after scrolling. I need to enforce some major changes when it comes to my phone and it starts with charging it away from my side of the bed and limits on how much I scroll the apps.
Let me know your intentions for the month!
