My December Bucket List 2024
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! And something in the air feels extra special this year. Maybe it’s because 2024 was such a hard year, maybe it’s because I am dreading the transition in January, but I am ready to celebrate and enjoy every moment I can this month.
Do Something Festive Each Day
I want to soak it all in! We decorated and decluttered on the first, but I think I want to make a bingo board or something of little things to do every day whether it’s baking, watching a movie or favorite throwback episode, coloring, writing cards, etc. Last year, I couldn’t enjoy the holidays at all because right before Thanksgiving is when things began to get challenging for my health. I spent 5 weeks scared and waiting for an MRI. I won’t take this year for granted.
Host a Cookie & Book Exchange
I am SO excited to host this party this year. I am having prizes for the 3 top rated cookies, a white elephant book exchange with everyone’s favorite books of 2024, delicious food, and so many friends who have made this year one I could get through.
Have an At Home Christmas Movie Date Night
Nick and I love movies and we love date nights. He has been my rock this year so I’d love to do something special at home for us. Homemade pizzas, a new movie, and our favorite festive treats.
Go Ice Skating
If you live in the Buffalo area, Canalside is magical this time of year and I always look forward to a cold, snowy night skating.
Visit a Festive Small Town
We love skiing in Ellicottville but have never been during Christmas time. I’d also love to go back to Niagara On the Lake!
Bake Cookies
I had so much fun doing a Christmas cookie baking day last year. it was the first time I was in charge of our families cookies and it felt like a special passing of the torch.
Build a Gingerbread House
Believe it or not, we didn’t do this last year! I wasn’t feeling very holly jolly and I am so sad I let it slip by. But not this year!
Christmas Light Drive
We did this all the time in 2020, when there wasn’t much else to do due to the pandemic. I have some very fond memories of those dark, cozy nights and I love doing it each year to honor those sad, scared 26 year olds.
Send Christmas Cards
A tradition! I love picking out a special card each season.
End of Year Self Care
While I love December, I want to make sure I am setting myself up for success in the new year. Staying in my exercise routine, decluttering, staying up to date on cleaning and chores, journaling, writing.
What’s on your bucket list this month? I have so many exciting things to share and honestly, I feel like this has become just a place to be passionate about my little life. I’m so grateful you are here.
