5 Top Hotels for Book Lovers

If you’re a book lover, it’s possible you have a similar dream vacation to me: a cozy, quiet spot in the mountains or at the beach for a whole week to read a book a day. I’ve always dreamed of hosting a reading retreat for this community and while I’m still working on it, I did find some perfect hotel options for readers. Some are inspired by popular books and others simply looked like the perfect cozy, light academia spot for a reader looking to get away.

Pacific Inn Motel

Forks, Washington

If you are a millenial, then you know why this motel made it onto the list. I have a lot of feelings on the Twilight Series, but I did read them as a middle schooler/early high school student and they helped keep reading fun for me when life got busy. The motel is themed to the series and movies and could be a fun stop for fans.

Seelbach “Hilton” Hotel

Louisville, Kentucky

Another surprise, but could be perfect for anyone in the midwest or middle south that wants a fun book themed staycation! It is a Hilton property, so you could use hotel points if that’s your chain of choice, but it doesn’t feel like a chain at all. The restaurant is called Gatsby’s and the building is full of rich literary history.

Inn at Boonsboro

Boonsboro, Maryland

When I was researching for this post, I stumbled across this Inn and I was a little surprised. I’m so sorry to any Marylanders, but it’s not exactly a spot on my vacation wishlist. But, Nora Roberts set a book series at this Inn! How cool is that? I think it would be so fun to read the books while you stay there and explore the area. There are vineyards nearby as well as plenty of American history to take in, if you want to take a break from reading.

The Library Hotel

New York City

This is one spot that I am so sad I missed out on when I lived in NYC. From the name alone I knew I would love it! But it’s classy and cozy, reminiscent of the times of F. Scott Fitzgerald and the great writers of the 1900s. It’s also based on the Dewey Decimal System! So each floor is dedicated to a different classification, like Math, Sciences, even Dinosaurs. If you’re in NYC, you’ve got to make it your place to stay or at least stop in for a drink or meal.

Sylvia Beach Hotel

Newport, Oregon

The Pacific Northwest is on my bucket list to visit and I think I may need to add this hotel to my itinerary when I make it out there one day! The website’s tagline says, “truly a hotel for book lovers” so I am sold. All of the rooms are named for different famous authors, from Oscar Wilde to Emily Dickinson.
