Journaling Supplies for the New Year
I have always been a person who loves to write. I had notebooks upon notebooks as a kid and they always were full of the Most Important Thoughts in the world. I had a journal that I sent back and forth with friends like the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants…but a journal. I loved writing. My journals were full of my life stories and fictional stories. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve kept up my daily journaling in different ways, but I’ve always admired people who use bullet journals. It’s so creative! I am not a super creative person when it comes to physical mediums (I’ve always struggled to be artistic) but I love to see the inspiration.
The best part of journaling is that there are no rules. You can take inspiration from so many creative and clever people, but it’s okay to make it your own. I view my planners as journals in a way. It’s a cool way to see what I kept track of each day and what my plans were, if I was really into recording things or fell off it that week.
Journaling is ultimately something that helps my mental health. I find brain dumps to be SO beneficial for me; whenever I am feeling anxious or overwhelmed, I like just let everything out. Once it’s out of my brain, sometimes I realize I don’t need to dwell on it too hard. Plus, maybe you’re like me and you always loved new school supplies! Getting a few new journaling supplies each year gives me that same rush.
