Football Season Prep: Recipes + Reads

While I’m always sad to see Summer go, the one thing that gets me into the Fall spirit is Football season! I love putting together a game day spread and enjoying time with Nick and/or friends. I’m doing my first fantasy league this year too! Nick jokes that I could be a GM because I know a lot about teams and players, so hopefully that knowledge serves me well.

I know hockey romances are really popular right now but I still love a good football romance. They span some of my favorite times of year, like the holidays and autumn, and I feel like they tend to be more diverse than hockey romances.

Books

The Cheat Sheet by Sarah Adams

Friends to lovers, closed door, and so utterly cute. I read this on audiobook and I really enjoyed it! I also got to meet Sarah Adams recently and she was so adorable.

Intercepted by Alexa Martin

I adore Alexa’s books but I will always have a fondness for her playbook series! Her husband played in the NFL so her books have a special insider knowledge in what it’s like to be a WAG (wives and girlfriends of professional athletes). Intercepted in the first in a four book series!

The Wall of Winnipeg and Me by Mariana Zapata

If you like a slowburn, Mariana Zapata is the author for you. This is probably one of her most popular books and is a marriage of convenience trope!

First Down by Grace Reilly

This is a book that’s on my TBR but I’ve been saving it for the Fall! It’s a college romance, so the New Adult genre, and it’s the fake dating trope, which is one of my all time favorite tropes. And it’s available on Kindle Unlimited!

Coach by Devney Perry

If you like Coach and Tammy Taylor from Friday Night Lights, I think you’ll love this book. It’s a second chance romance about a former NFL player who has returned to his alma mater to coach. Once he’s there, he reunites with the “one who got away” in college who now also works there!

One by Jewel E. Ann

This is another one on my TBR and it has second chance vibes along with insta-connection!

The Guy in the Middle by Kate Stewart

I haven’t read any Kate Stewart but I know she’s really popular! This is the third book in The Underdogs series and is a college football romance about the best player on the team’s NFL ambitions…and his crush on the coach’s daughter.

Enemies by Tijan

Another book on my TBR but i have seen a lot of this author’s books! As the title suggests, it’s a good old enemies to lovers trope.

The Dating Playbook by Farrah Rochon

This is probably one of my favorite football romances! It’s about a personal trainer and football player who wants to get back into the NFL but no one can know they’re working together…until they’re mistaken for a couple.

Let me know your teams! We’re a Bills and Notre Dame family.
