What I Read in July 2023
July flew by and I think I had my “worst” reading month in years. My days were packed this month and I couldn’t get into a good reading habit, which is totally okay! I also read less on audio because I have been having a huge music moment. I’ve been having a Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)/Noah Kahan/Maggie Rogers/Folklore/Evermore Summer and I don’t hate it.
Seven books is on the low end for me but it’s nothing to be ashamed of. In July, I ran my first race (4.5 miles!), took on new responsibilities as a teaching artist, celebrated friends, and laughed a whole lot. Sometimes that’s more important! But, I have missed my reading routine and in August, I am looking forward to getting back into the habit of reading every single day.
Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros
It feels like I read this years ago, that’s how packed July was for me. While some of the writing was a little clunky in my opinion, I loved the story and was totally swept away in it!
You With a View by Jessica Joyce
I wanted to love this book…but something just didn’t click for me! I’ve seen rave reviews though so I feel like it was a me problem not the book’s.
The Fine Print by Lauren Asher
I did this audio and unfortunately, it did not work for me at all.
That Summer Feeling by Bridget Morrissey
I loved this book and the setting SO much. It was such a delight and I am becoming more and more obsessed with Morrissey’s writing.
The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston
My favorite book of the month! I LOVED this book and wished I’d been able to devote more of my time to it because I could have easily read it in a single sitting.
Reckless by Elsie Silver
Yeehaw, I am obsessed with this series and loved this book on audio.
Wrapped with a Beau by Lilli Vale
Christmas in July! Super cute, felt very different from any holiday novel I’ve read in the last couple years but still packed with nostalgia. It’s out September 26!
Let me know your favorite read of July!
