Is the Nap Dress Worth it?

This is probably well past the time that people care about this information, but after I visited the Hill House store in Manhattan a couple weeks ago, I realized I never created a formal review of the viral smocked dress. The Nap Dress isn’t everyone’s style, but I think for some people, it’s the perfect piece of clothing.

I love that it’s something that you can dress up or down. It can be worn for work and meetings, then easily transition to a happy hour. it’s great for bridal/baby showers, special events, and hot Summer days. I also really love them for travel days! They’re elevated so you feel put together but are so comfortable, it’s no different than wearing leggings and a sweatshirt.

Sizing

I wear a L in the Ellie Dress, which is the classic silhouette. I’ve tried on the Elizabeth style as well, which is just a mini version of the Ellie! I recently purchased the Anjuli as well in the XL and I love it. It feels a little sturdier and is a true maxi dress.

Quality

The dresses begin at $150, which I think is quite steep, but I think they are totally worth it. I love the prints, how they feel, the pockets, and that it is a woman owned company.

One fun thing about the brick and mortar stores is that each has an exclusive print. This navy gingham is from the Nantucket store! I also have the NYC exclusive and I love it.

My first dress! This was a gift from my friend Elsa, as a wedding gift. I love it so much more for that reason! I also wore the classic White Swiss Dot style to get ready on my wedding day.

If you can visit one of the stores, you must! They are currently in NYC, Palm Beach, FL, Nantucket, and coming soon to Charleston, SC.

Overall Thoughts

I think the Ellie style dress is totally worth it. I love the tulle ones as well and some of the collector’s editions, but I really love to wear the nap dress during the spring and summer to be comfortable and put together. I don’t know if I’d ever wear one to a wedding or more formal event, but for feeling cute and cozy during the warmer months, I think they’re perfect and well worth the price.

I’ve tried some dupes and I’m never very satisfied with them. Also, as a plus sized person, I love that I can wear a beautiful dress that molds to MY body. The smocking makes it so my bust is comfortable and I don’t have to stress about a zipper not working out.

So simply, I think if you’ve been on the fence and have the budget, you won’t regret purchasing It!
