Charleston Recap
I am still missing Charleston so much! It was my third time visiting but the first time I got to do some of the more touristy stuff but also enjoy relaxing. It really is such a beautiful place and the perfect warm getaway when you need some sunshine. I’d love to go back for a full vacation and do a few more of the historical aspects, like a ghost tour, but also Charleston has a very real past as part of the slave trade in America that shouldn’t be glossed over. While I didn’t have the chance to explore any of the museums and historical aspects on this trip, I definitely will when I return.
For this trip, I was there for a bachelorette party! So we had a nice balance between going out and exploring (in the heat), shopping, and relaxing at our resort. I think my favorite part of the whole weekend was that time felt so slow, but not boring. We had the perfect amount of time to do what was on our itinerary and still feel like we could relax as well. I was a big fan!
Where We Stayed:
Wild Dunes Resort on Isle of the Palms
We stayed in the Penthouse Suite of the Sweetgrass Inn and Suites. It was perfect for 9 girls! It was a two levels, 4 bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths with a full kitchen and three separate balconies. We LOVED it.
Where We Ate:
Ritual—We did our “going out” night here! We went for dinner, which was really delicious Mexican food. We had an 8:30pm reservation which was great because at 10pm it turns into a club. Not normally my scene, but for a bachelorette it’s a ton of fun! And there were rooftops as well that were awesome.
5 Church—We did brunch here and I LOVED it. I think it’s a quite popular spot already, but it’s well worth it.
Activities We Did:
Pool, beach, visited Rainbow Row and the Pineapple fountain, picnic on the beach, sleepover, karaoke, hot tub and pool.
What I Wore:
Black Dress // Romper // Nap Dress // Striped Set Top // Striped Set Shorts // PJ Shorts // PJ Top
Tips & Tricks:
We went the last weekend of April and the weather was perfect but it was BUSY. So, getting a car into Charleston from the Isle of Palms was kind of tough, so make sure to plan ahead!
The airport is small, but can be busy on Sundays so give yourself plenty of time to get through security.
I think April was the perfect time to visit. I’ve been at the end of June/early July and it was too hot to enjoy yourself.
