What I Read in April 2023
Oh April, a month of pink and pink accented books apparently! Lots of audiobooks during road trips and a few late nights staying up to finish stories that had me enthralled. A number of duds, which was a bummer, but a few glorious surprises.
Secretly Yours by Tessa Bailey
Cute and fine, but not a new favorite.
Happy Place by Emily Henry
A delightful surprise that made me cry. My favorite Emily Henry so far!
Gigi, Listening by Chanel Guertin
This was cute but I only finished it cause I was reading via audio!
Romantic Comedy by Curtis Sittenfeld
Hot take…I found this kind of boring? And I found the main character (Sally) to be incredibly annoying and irritating. It was a bummer since I’ve loved her books in the past!
The Neighbor Favor by Kristina Forest
The first surprise of the month! I loved this book!
Coach by Devney Perry
In the running for my favorite of the month. It was everything I’ve been into lately and made me miss football season so much!
The Nanny by Lana Ferguson
A delightful, delicious, spicy surprise. Loved it!
The Fiancee Farce by Alexandria Bellefleur
The second surprise of the month! This book was so much fun and also so special.
Meet Me at the Lake by Carley Fortune
Probably my biggest let down…I was so excited for this book and I still really enjoyed it, but it was VERY different from Every Summer After and it didn’t hook me the way I was hoping it would.
Flawless by Elsie Silver
Another surprise and yeehaw, I am into it. Can’t wait to continue this series.
A Perfect Vintage by Chelsea Fagan
Kit McBride Gets a Wife by Amy Barry
A Caribbean Heiress in Paris by Adrianna Herrera
What was your favorite read of the month?
