Beach Reads Perfect for Spring Break
Is anyone else ready for a vacation? I’m currently typing this as snow swirls outside and while it’s beautiful, I miss wearing sundresses and flip flops. I have some exciting trips coming up but I am itching to get to the beach soon so I’ll have to go through my books. Where’s your dream travel destination right now?
When I think of a book to read on vacation, I want something that completely pulls me in. A book where you don’t feel time moving and the sun is soaking into your skin, leaving you feeling warm and full. A book that collects sand and twigs and memories that will forever be associated with the place where you read it.
The Whole Thing Together by Ann Brashares
Ann Brashares is part of my childhood and while I haven’t read this book, it’s definitely on my spring break reading list now.

One Italian Summer by Rebecca Serle
I’ve been tempted by this audiobook many times because Lauren Graham reads it and the cover is so swoony! It’s a mother daughter story set in Italy.
How to Fake It in Hollywood by Ava Wilder
One of my favorite romances from 2022 that has fake dating, NYC and LA, and some epic spice. It also has some meat to it, addressing loving someone with and through addiction.
Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez
This book is so utterly charming. It has some Gilmore Girls vibes but mostly I found it to be one of those Romances that is transportive and meaningful while still being ridiculously FUN.
The Counselors by Jessica Goodman
Looking for a summery thriller? I loved this one last Summer! It’s set at a New England camp and has major Private by Kate Brian vibes.
The Lifestyle by Taylor Hahn
This book won’t be for everyone but I absolutely devoured it. it’s an Emma retelling set in NYC where the main character explores the world of…stay with me here…swinging. And it’s shockingly not open door!
You Made a Fool of Death with Your Beauty by Awkaeke Emezi
I loved this book and how descriptive it was. I always say this book is “achingly romantic” because it IS and it also personifies the island so strongly. Highly recommend.
Island Time by Georgia Clark
If you’re looking for a book where the setting is also a character, this is the book for you. It’s set on a remote island off the coast of Australia and it’s so charming while also addressing some familiar struggles.
The Unsinkable Greta James by Jennifer E. Smith
If you’re dream vacation is an Alaskan cruise (like me) then this is the book for you. Warning, you will feel the urge to buy a copy of Call of the Wild after.
The Suite Spot by Trish Doller
If you like low spice romance that makes your cheeks hurt from smiling, I cannot recommend this book enough. It’s set on an island in the middle of one of the great lakes and it’s so ADORABLE.
Love Lists and Fancy Ships by Sara Ruiz Grunder
If you love the show Below Deck, you will love this book.
The Summer of Broken Rules by K.L. Walther
Probably one of my most recommended books but wow does this book pack an emotional punch. If you loved the show The Summer I Turned Pretty you will fall head over heels for this book set on Martha’s Vineyard.
The Guncle by Steven Rowley
This is another book I recommend constantly because it’s that good. It’s set in Palm Springs and is laugh out loud funny while also digging into grief and how we process loss. I love love LOVED this book.
