Books by Trope: Hockey Romances

It seems the entire romance reader section of the internet is in a hockey romance era. I’m not mad about it! Ashley and I talk about this on the podcast a lot, but fictional hockey boys seem to be better than real ones. I don’t read a ton of sports romances for someone who loves sports so much, but give me a hockey romance and I am all in. I think it’s something about going back to the collegiate setting that is fun and they’re in the same genre/trope as “famous person. normal person” like celebrity romances.

So, if you’re in the market for a hockey romance, look no further!

The Off Campus Series by Elle Kennedy

It’s no secret I love this series. I reread it in 2022 on audio and it was so good. It is 100% written from the male gaze lol but it’s entertaining and I’m an adult who can admit that.

Briar U Series by Elle Kennedy

This is a spin off series from Off Campus!

Ice Breaker by Hannah Grace

GAH I love this book. No third act break up, great spice, a Christmas scene, FANTASTIC communication.

Until It Fades by KA Tucker

This book is lighter on the spice but heavy on the heart! It also has the single mom trope and I thought it was so so so sweet. Really good on audio and as always, Tucker knows how to write a MAN.

Always Only You by Chloe Liese

I really really liked this one from Chloe Liese on audio! It has great representation for chronic illness. Liese’s books always include inclusive characters and I think that’s really special to find in Romance because everyone is deserving of a love story.

This final 4 are on my TBR but they all sound so good!

Playing Hurt by Kelly Jamieson

Mister Hockey by Lia Riley

Wildcat by Rebecca Jenshak

Breakaway by Grace Reilly

What trope should we do next?
