What I Read in November 2023

November felt like a month that was really slow. I know I’ve alluded to some things going on in my personal life a lot this month and while I am not ready to share publicly yet, it is related to my health so it made reading a little difficult. But this is my favorite time of year and I’m doing all that I can to make the most of it. When I look back on the month, I can’t believe I hosted a birthday party for Nick, visited my friends in NYC and CT, experienced our first snow, worked my students’ show, started (and nearly finished) Christmas shopping, decluttered our home, decorated for the holidays, had a jam packed Thanksgiving break, and now…December is here.

Amidst all the scary feelings and appointments, I found time to get lost in stories. I listened to music, wrote 25,000 words in my current work in progress, and found new favorites. It wasn’t perfect, but as always, I am so grateful for stories when life is unsettled. And a wonderful husband and puppy who love to take care of me.

I Think Check & Mate was my favorite read of the month! What was yours?

Check & Mate by Ali Hazelwood

I don’t know what Ali Hazelwood put in this book, but I could not stop reading. I LOVED it.

The Graham Effect by Elle Kennedy

A perfect start to a new series that was everything I loved about the original series, but the ending was a little wild for me. Overall, still extremely enjoyable though!

The Deal (Reread) by Elle Kennedy

I also love this series even more every time I reread it!

The Mistake (Reread) by Elle Kennedy

I love Grace and Logan. Not as much as Garrett and Hannah, but I love them.

The Score (Reread) by Elle Kennedy

Sorry not sorry, I love Dean.

Maybe Meant to be by K.L. Walther

This was a little slow for me and I was more invested in one story line than the other, but I loved the boarding school setting so much! You can tell the author developed her craft a lot between this one and her sophomore novel!

Rootbound by Tarah Dewitt

2023 is the year of yeehaw and I am not stopping any time soon.

Love in a Winter Wonderland by Abiola Bello

This was cute and I loved the bookstore setting!

The Naughty, The Nice, and The Nanny by Willa Nash

Probably my favorite of this novella series. Single dad and a nanny at Christmas time in Montana!

Three Bells, Two Bows, One Brother’s Best Friend by Willa Nash

Easy listening and has more spice than the first book!

A Risk Worth Taking by Jessica Joyce

I think this will be a favorite for a lot of people this season because it packs a bunch in a short amount of time!
