My Fall Closet Staples & Style Inspo
I love the ease of Summer and wearing dresses and rompers all the time. But there is something fun about putting together outfits for the Fall. I grew up wearing a uniform so if I’m being honest, dressing for the Fall and Winter is something I had to learn when I went to college. But then, I really had to dress for movement because I needed to be able to dance, go to stage combat, acting, and voice and speech.
Last winter, I went on a personal style journey. I have fun putting together outfits now and while I don’t think I’ll ever be a true “capsule wardrobe” girlie, I do love having versatile pieces I can wear in a multitude of ways. I like to give myself a “dress code” rather than a uniform now.
I like sweaters and comfortable bottoms for when I’m teaching. When I’m working from home it’s leggings and sweatshirts all day. But I like to wear things that make me feel good and I can move in, plus can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. It’s also quite cold where we live now so warmth is key!
Straight Leg Jeans // Field Jacket // Denim Jacket // Tretorns // Slippers // Tissue Turtleneck
I’ve always defined my style as classic and timeless with a little bit of preppy flare. I get a lot of my inspiration lately from academic TV shows like The Sex Lives of College Girls. I like a crossover between Leighton’s style and Whitney’s sporty casualness.
