Why I Love My E-Reader
After using my new Kindle Paperwhite 11th Generation for six months, I can confirm we are in a very committed and loving relationship. I seriously never thought I would be an e-reader kind of gal, but it was one of the best investments that I made.
Especially now that I’m on a mission not to buy physical copies of books as often, I love that you can get library books on it! It’s my favorite purchase of the year so far and probably will remain that way because I use it nearly every day. And I bring it with me everywhere 😂 .
Favorite Features
Waterproof—I use it to read in the bath and the pool and don’t have to worry about it getting damaged
Dark Mode + Backlight—I used to always need to put something on my iPad to fall asleep and now I read in the dark after Nick has gone to bed. Plus, it doesn’t get hot reading in the sun like a phone or iPad!
I Read Faster—I swear, since my Kindle Paperwhite is so light and easy to carry around, I read faster. I don’t physically see how much of a book I have left so if it’s dragging, I don’t get as discouraged.
Compact—It fits in quite possibly ever bag I own. Even the Lululemon belt bag! It’s the perfect size and easy for travel.
Library Books—I am getting back into the swing of using my library (I got out of the habit in 2020 since everything was shut down and then we moved) and it is so nice! I know we don’t love to support Bezos so even if you have a Kindle, you don’t have to buy books from Amazon.
Time Left—I like to set my Kindle to the time left in a chapter rather than a book. I never know how accurate it is but it definitely helps me with my “one more chapter” syndrome and if I have time to keep going if I’m reading during rehearsal, shows, or on my lunch break.
Accessories
White Decal—The new Paperwhite only comes in black so I like to use this decal! You can basically get any print on the site and it’s super easy to apply.
Happy Go Lovely Sleeve in MINI—Fits the 2018 + 2021 Paperwhites and I believe it fits the Oasis.
Pop Socket—I’m a pop socket user but I know some people like to use Loopies!
I still want to try out the Kobo! If you use it, i’d love to know your thoughts!
