Weekly Wrap Up 5/27/22

What is there left to say? Just like last week’s Weekly Wrap Up, I’m at a complete loss. I’m feeling so much anger, disappointment, and deep rage at the elected officials in this country who refuse to do anything about the very real gun crisis in the United States.
I want to thank you all who support me and give me the grace to navigate these times on social media. There is no rule book for how to publicly process these events and the pressure put on people with platforms to be perfect in times of crisis is getting stronger and stronger.

While I will never be able to please everyone, I hope you know my heart and intentions by this point. I’ve never been shy about what I believe and support. I am not a parent yet, but I have little ones I love dearly who go into schools each day and i’m terrified for them. I’m also still processing and healing from the racially motivated shooting in Buffalo, where I live.

And on the small scale, we had a very scary episode with our sweet puppy. This week, all around, was hard. I’m holding space for you and trying to navigate all this as it feels right to me. Thank you for that grace.

Weekend Plans:

I’m going to keep the #ReadIntoSummer readathon lowkey. We all heal and process trauma differently and that’s okay. The reading sprint schedule can be found in this post and feel free to share what you’re planning on reading with me. Even if it’s just for an hour to recharge in order to continue the fight for justice in our country, I hope that it brings some levity to your days.

Stay safe and know I’m sending you all the love I can.
