My #CampOutWithABook Summer TBR

I know I’ve said it a million times, but I am SO excited for this summer on Read & Wright. I’m always looking to make my reading feel less solitary. My mission when I created my space on the Internet was to share not only my own love of books, but to help others incorporate reading into their daily lives. In a digital world, I think it’s more important than ever to find time to disconnect for 30 minutes every day into a book.

Today, I want to share the 9 books from my shelves I want to focus on getting read this Summer! I chose 9 because I have an embarrassing amount of unread books on my shelves but do not feel like you have to choose one book for each prompt. Plenty of these I could cross pollinate. For example, Elatsoe could fall under By a New to You Author, Chose for the Cover, and A Friend Recommended to You. As with every reading challenge and readathon I host, remember the point is simply to read. Whether that be one book or one hundred, all I want to encourage is reading.

Read a Book that’s been on your TBR for at least one year—Last Night at the Telegraph Club by Malinda Lo

I have been wanting to read this book since it’s release! I purchased a copy when it was on sale last Winter and this is the season I finally read it!

Read a Book by a new to you author—Elatsoe by Darcie Little Badger

My friend Liz recommended this book to me when we were on our Indie Bookstore Tour and I’m so excited to read it.

Read a Book that has Intimidated You—Raybearer by Jordan Fuenko

I don’t think I’ve seen a review of this book that is less than five stars. I don’t know why but i find that intimidating?? But i’m overcoming that completely irrational fear and finally will read it this summer!

Read a Book with “Summer” in the Title—Summer Island by Shelley Noble

I reserve the right to change my mind on this one, because there isn’t a shortage of “summer” books, but I received a copy from the publisher and it’s a mother/daughter story.

Read a Book Set in a Beach/Lake Town—Camp by LC Rosen

A necessary read for Camp Out with a Book, clearly. I never went to traditional camp so I have a fascination camp stories.

Read a Book Outside of your Normal Genres/Comfort Zone—One True Loves by Taylor Jenkins Reid

Contemporary/Women’s Fiction isn’t that different from Romance, but I’ve heard this book doesn’t have a happily ever after/happy ending so…that’s a departure for me. Life has been so terrible the last 2+ years that I just like a HEA, okay!!!

Read a Book a Friend Recommended to You—Hana Khan Carries On by Uzma Jalaluddin

This came in my Novel Neighbor surprise book box! I love the Novel Neighbor team and consider them friends so, thank you for the recommendation!

Read a Book in a Series—As Good As Dead by Holly Jackson

I read Good Girl, Bad Blood during the #ReadIntoSummer readathon so i’m going to finish off the series this summer!

Read a Book that You chose for the Cover—Float by Kate Marchant

I bought this book during the dark days of Winter because the cover was so summery and cute.

Obviously I’m going to read other books this summer but I hope that by seeing how I have interpreted these prompts, it helps you to choose your books!
