Twelve 2022 Romance Releases on my Radar

It’s no secret that my favorite genre over the last few years has become Romance. Honestly, I have a really hard time reading books that aren’t Romance anymore. I think there’s just something about a throughline of love that makes a story feel so real to me.

I shared my 12 Most Anticipated 2022 Releases (so far) earlier in the month, but now let’s focus in on some of the Romances I can’t wait to read!

The Roughest Draft by Austin Siegemund-Broka and Emily Wibberley

This book sounds like what I wanted Beach Read to be, so i’m excited! It’s about two co-authors who were on the brink of stardom and then parted on bad terms. But when they’re both faced with a professional crossroads, they’re forced to reunite and hole up in a Florida home to write together again.

Count Your Lucky Stars by Alexandra Bellefour

I have had such great reading experiences with both the previous books in this companion series! This one follows Margot and Olivia and is an ex childhood friends to lovers type scenario. I love this world so I’m excited to get back into it! Available February 1, 2022.

Never Been Kissed by Timothy Janovsky

This book was pitched to me as a feel good New Adult Summery RomCom with To All the Boys I Loved Before vibes and what more could I ask for? It’s about Wren, who’s never been kissed. On the eve of his birthday, he sends emails to all the boys he had crushes on before he came out. When morning comes, he tries not to panic, thinking they’ll never read them much less respond. Enter Derrick, one of the almost kisses of his past, who know must work together to save his failing drive in movie theater.

By the Book by Jasmine Guillory

We know I love a retelling and this is a Beauty and the Beast retelling! It’s the second book in the Meant to Be companion series and follows Izzy, a twenty something working in publishing who is starting to feel the frustrations of the antiquated industry. She takes it upon herself to get a beastly (I see you) author’s long overdue manuscript and the two realize they might not be so different after all. Available May 3, 2022.

The Emma Project by Sonali Dev

I’ve loved all these Jane Austen retellings by Sonali Dev! This is obviously an Emma retelling and I have a soft spot for that book. It’s the fourth book in The Rajes companion series! Available May 17, 2022.

Wilder by Christina Lauren

It’s not summer without a new CLo Romance! First off the cover of this one is STUNNING but it sounds so sweet and fun too. Set in Utah, it’s full of second chances, adventure, and complicated relationships as Lily Wilder tries to buy back her father’s ranch and Leo wants to reconnect with his first and only love. Available May 17, 2022.

American Royalty by Tracey Livesay

I am SO excited for this book, I’ll be reading it ASAP because we know I love a royal romance! This seems to take inspiration from Harry and Meghan as it follows a reclusive prince who prefers life out of the spotlight and an American Rapper who’s chosen to play at a concert the prince is hosting. They meet and sparks fly. Available June 28, 2022.

Husband Material by Alexis Hall

I thought Boyfriend Material was SO cute so I can’t wait to catch up with the characters in its sequel!

A Cosmic Kind of Love by Samantha Young

I didn’t know much about this book but then I read that it’s an astronaut and event planner romance and color me intrigued! It’s a star-crossed lovers type of story with maybe some You’ve Got Mail vibes? Seems like it since they’re separated by screens! It sounds fun! Available August 30, 2022.

Love and Other Disasters by Anita Kelly

I’m so excited to see more queer representation in Romance! In this book, we have a non-binary character who appears on a fan favorite cooking show who falls for their competitor! I LOVE a good cooking reality show so I’m excited to see how it translates in this book.

A Brush with Love by Mazey Eddings

This book sounds like it’s full of pining as two oral surgical residents meet and agree to be just friends, even as their feelings start to grow. Hot dentist romance! What else could you want? Available Match 1, 2022.

Love on the Brain by Ali Hazelwood

I’m pretty sure almost everyone loved The Love Hypothesis last year so I can’t wait to see what Ali Hazelwood does next! We get to see another woman in STEM take the lead in this scientific enemies to lovers/nemesis to lovers Romance. Available August 23, 2022.
