What I Read in April 2021

After a pretty slumpy March, I was so happy to get back into my reading groove in April! I read across the board this month with some new favorites and a couple duds.

TheIntimacyExperiment.jpeg

The Intimacy Experiment by Rosie Danan—Full Review here. I liked this one so much! I really like Danan’s writing and what she explored in Naomi’s story.

YoureNotSpecial.jpeg

You’re Not Special by Meghan Reinks—I’ve been a fan of Meghan’s for years and was glad to finally read her “sort of memoir.” As another working actress in social media, I appreciated her story. The first half read like an advice book to younger women but the last 20% made the read worth it to me.

KissesandCroissants.jpeg

Kisses and Croissants by Anne-Sophie Jouhanneau—Such a sweet YA that really captured the magic of summers when you’re a teenager. It made me crave Paris as well! Just enough sass to balance the sweetness. Highly recommend!

Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire-Saenz—A truly timeless book that I will be recommending for years.

SingMeForgotten.jpeg

Sing Me Forgotten by Jessica S. Olson—I’m a broken record, but we know I love a retelling! This is a gender bent Phantom of the Opera retelling that I really enjoyed! Not a new favorite but definitely a fun low fantasy. I had the pleasure of speaking with the author over my Instagram Live as well!

Legendborn.jpeg

Legendborn by Tracey Deonn—100% a new fav! I can’t wait for the sequel of this King Arthur inspired urban fantasy.

Three Books in a Dark Romance Romance series—I don’t feel comfortable sharing the title or author of this series since I don’t agree with everything portrayed. I do not want to promote it.

UntilItFades.jpeg

Until It Fades by K.A. Tucker—I listened to this one on audio and I think it was the right way to read it! If you’re looking for a romance that isn’t too steamy but full of drama, this is a great option! Plus it’s a sports romance so if that’s your jam, try this one out!
