Read It Or List It: Author Interview with Matt Haig

One of my favorite parts of doing the podcast is getting to speak with so many authors who are incredibly generous with their time. On today’s episode, we welcome the celebrated Matt Haig to Read It Or List It!

Matt Haig has written over 20 books across genres. From memoir and nonfiction to middle grade novels to adult fiction, his work prioritizing mental health resonates with so many readers. His latest adult fiction novel, The Midnight Library, has been a stand out favorite since its release in September 2020.

There she is given the chance to undo her regrets and try out each of the other lives she might have lived. Which raises the ultimate question: with infinite choices, what is the best way to live? —From the publisher

You can listen to the episode here on Spotify. Please be aware that Matt is very candid in his discussion of his own mental health journey and there are mentions of suicide and suicidal thoughts throughout.

It was such a joy to speak with Matt and filled me up with good feelings and energy for the rest of the day! I particularly love how he equates our mental health to a garden. We must tend to our gardens and there are winters and there are springs, but we have to care for it with the tenderness and attention it deserves.
