December Bucket List and Tis the Readson 2021

It’s December 1st! Welcome December and the holiday season so you know what that means…#TisTheReadson2021 is here! I am so excited for this year’s holiday readathon. Last year, it was such a bright spot and I can’t wait to continue it this year even though I truly can’t believe another year has come and gone. Like most people, i’m still processing March 2020 😂.

As is tradition, I’m sharing my monthly bucket list so that I remind myself to slow down and still enjoy the season. I’ve loved doing these and I hope they also provide some inspiration for you! One of my goals for 2021 was to put less pressure on myself. I haven’t always succeeded but I do think I’ve gotten better about living in the moment.

  1. Send Holiday Cards—We do this every year and I’m so excited to do it with a wedding photo 🥰 And of course, a photo with Beasley. I used to love going through the card basket at my parents’ house growing up so I love keeping up the tradition.

  2. Drive Around to Look at Christmas Lights—We did this as a date night so many times last year! Even though things are a tiny bit better, we still want to keep this up! We’d go to Starbucks and get festive coffees and cocoas and discover new neighborhoods and have the best conversations. This year we’ll bring B!

  3. Make Gingerbread Houses—One of my best friends (and bridesmaids!) and I have done this every year for…15 years? A very long time. We couldn’t do it together last year but we will this year! Yay vaccines!

  4. Go Ice Skating—Nick is a huge hockey fan and we used to skate every season. We didn’t get to last year so we’re making it happen in 2021!

  5. Read a Book in One Sitting—Another goal I have each and every month but this time, it will be done by the light of the Christmas tree. Last year I flew through In a Holidaze so I’m excited to see which book it is this year!

  6. Bake Christmas Cookies—I didn’t bake any homemade Christmas cookies last year because I just didn’t have the energy but this year it is happening!

  7. Get Matching Family Stockings—I never thought I’d be that extra of a Dog Parent…but here we are.

  8. Host a Secret Santa Holiday Party—Depending on how things look this winter, we may not have an in person holiday party but I do still want to do a secret santa!

  9. Visit the Christmas Tree Farm—We have the cutest Christmas Tree Farm near us where you can cut down your own tree. I’m allergic, so we usually just get a wreath to keep on our front door and one for the balcony, but it’s still such a fun experience!

  10. Make Hot Cocoa on a Snow Day—We know I love a snow day! I’m hoping for a good snowy day to enjoy a hot mug of cocoa and a good book.

  11. Donate Toys and Necessities to a Shelter—An 11th for luck! We always put together some donations this time of year. I’m also going to be donating a ton of books!

What’s on your bucket list this month?

And get excited for #TisTheReadson2021! The first giveaway photo challenge is live and we are going to be hosting reading sprints all season long!
