April TBR and Lil Update on How I'm Doing

I don’t know if I should call this my April TBR or my QuaranTBR but regardless, I’ve been excited for reading for the first time since all of this happened. But I’m not going to lie to you…I had my first irrational outburst late last night. I hadn’t cried in 10 days and finally it all just came tumbling out over DISHES. Yes that’s right, I was crying and shouting into the kitchen sink last night about dishes.

Truthfully, it was about so much more than dishes. It was about being stuck in a 400 square foot apartment with no time to myself. It was about the uncertainty regarding our wedding (which is *hopefully* two months from today). It was about missing the lack of fear, the gym, fresh vegetables on a regular basis. I miss my friends and my family and the excitement I should be feeling right now. But instead of organizing generous gifts from a bridal shower or counting the hours until my Bachelorette Party weekend, I’m living in leggings and stressed.

And it all came out in the kitchen sink.

I needed it. I needed to let it out and I woke up this morning (after a terrible night’s sleep) to just try again. There is no right way to feel at this moment in time. We just have to wake up and try again.

BUT…

After finally settling into our new normal, I have found my reading groove again! I’m excited to have more time and focus this month to read some books that have been on my shelves forever. Here’s what I’m planning on reading:

The ACOTAR series: A Court of Thorns and Roses, A Court of Mist and Fury, A Court of Wings and Ruin. Plus the novella, A Court of Frost and Starlight

Yes No Maybe So—A YA Contemporary that was in my BOTM (Book of the Month) box a while ago.

The Heir Affair—The long awaited sequel to The Royal We, out July 7. Thank you Grand Central Publishing for my early copy!

Beach Read—My BOTM Pick for April! A huge advantage of the subscription is that you can get books early—this one doesn’t hit shelves until May 19, 2020 but you can brighten you quarantine with it now by signing up for just $5!

The Guest List—Another BOTM option that is an early release! It is out May 5, 2020 but you can get it now by signing up!

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo—A backlist title that is well loved and I can’t wait to read!

Autoboyography—A Christina Lauren backlist YA title!

It’s Not Summer Without You & We’ll Always Have Summer—Book 2 and 3 in The Summer I Turned Pretty series by Jenny Han

Avalon High—a CLASSIC favorite of mine by Meg Cabot. I can’t decided if I want to read it or listen to it but oh it’s just so good.

My True Love Gave to Me—cause Christmas is JOYFUL duh. It’s a collection of short stories but some of the best YA writers of the 2000’s!

Lots of these are available for free on Scribd right now and I’m loving taking advantage of the free 30 days!

I’m excited to have a productive day and then just right back into the world of ACOMAF this evening. And remember: drop your jaw, roll your shoulders, take a breath. I’m rooting for you.
