Tips or Focusing at Home and Reducing Stress

I asked on Instagram what content everyone was needing right now and overwhelming it turned out to be work from home productivity tips! I think I am finally settling in a little routine in the time. And honestly, we are finding joy. It’s been a long time since Nick and I had a show we could watch together every night. We’re currently watching Schitt’s Creek together and we are LOVING it! I can’t believe it took us this long to watch it.

If you have any suggestions on what we should watch together next, leave a comment!

I think every blogger on the face of the universe has been sharing some, but here is what has been working for me!

~Setting a schedule—I aim to be up by 7:30 (which is lovely, since my usual wake up call in 6am!) and I work from about 9-3:30/4 with a 45 minute “lunch break” to eat and take a walk or read a bit. Then I read from 4-5 ish and then cook! We eat around 6 Monday-Friday.

~Coffee and reading—having the time for a slower morning has been a huge positive of this scary time

~Getting ready—changing into my work clothes, which usually means leggings and a cozy sweatshirt

~Hair/Make up—I don’t do make up every day but I do always put a headband on and sometimes foundation & mascara

~Meal planning—I have so enjoyed having more time to cook! It’s been fun to get creative in the kitchen and actually being able to use my cookbooks.  Plus, we received so many lovely shower gifts in March, it’s been fun to find homes for all of them AND put them to good use!

~Harry Potter ASMR room—I love these for cozy reading at night but have found them to be INVALUABLE for working from home. I can’t listen to music while working so it’s so nice to having the calming sounds that also allow me to really focus on what I’m doing. Here are my favorites:

Hut On the Rocks

Waking Up at Shell Cottage

Christmas at Number 12 Grimmauld Place

Hogwarts Library

Gryffindor Common Room

I’ve also been using yoga and stretching to help get me out of my head and back into my body. There are SO many great resources on YoutTube to help relax your mind AND body. I’ve been taking walks when the weather allows and jog up the stairs to our roof #citylife for cardio. It’s tough but feels good!
