Weekly Wrap Up 4-10-20

This has been a week of ups and downs, as I think most will be for the foreseeable future. This week we had to create a “back up plan” for our wedding and it definitely was an emotional journey for me. We haven’t postponed our June wedding yet, but I think it is inevitable. It’s hard, spending so much time planning and dreaming of the perfect wedding weekend and ending up with something more rushed than you ever envisioned.

I am letting myself grieve this loss and prepare for it and I’m hopeful our guests will understand that things will be different and not as convenient as our original plan. This is so far out of our hands and as a planner by nature, that is extremely difficult to swallow.

But I did have a bright spot this week and that was the book series I started: A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas. I finished book one, ACOTAR, on Saturday night and dived right into book 2, A Court of Mist and Fury immediately on Sunday morning.

It is a wonderful escapist series and I am counting the seconds until my copies of third book and novella arrive this weekend! Literally, I cannot stop checking the tracking.

Here’s what I was up to this week:

Read: A Court of Thorns and Roses, A Court of Mist and Fury, Out of Sight Out of Time

Currently Reading: United We Spy

Next Up: A Court of Wings and Ruin, A Court of Frost and Starlight

Weekend Plans: I’m guesting on a friend’s podcast and it’s Easter so we’re going to have a little virtual celebration with my family! I’m excited for that and it will be nice to “see” everyone. And honestly, I will just be reading my books once they arrive!

I hope you all had a week with moments of joy, regardless of the state of the world. Things that bring me small moments of joy are hot showers, baking, cooking for Nick, and a cold glass of wine at the end of the day. This has been a week of ups and downs, as I think most will be for the foreseeable future.
