Review Round Up
First of all, thank you for all the love on yesterday’s post. Opening up and being vulnerable isn’t easy, but knowing that someone out there might need to hear it really helps. I’m thinking of everyone who is struggling right now.
Therefore, this has been a week of comfort reads. I got to speak with Alli from the SSR Podcast over the weekend about one of my FAVORITE series growing up, The Gallagher Girl by Ally Carter. I had to reread the first one for my guest feature on her show and now I’ve gone down the rabbit hole of rereading ALL of them. So worth it! It’s about an all girls boarding school that teaches espionage. Yes, SPY SCHOOL. It’s just as badass as it sounds while also being fun, lighthearted, and relatable.
I’d Tell You I Love You But Then I’d Have to Kill You (book 1)—Just as good as I remember it. A few moments let me down, but Alli and I discuss that on the podcast. My episode drops at the end of April! The audiobook of this one is available on Scribd right now—which you can get free for 30 days right now!
Don’t Judge a Girl by Her Cover (book 2)—Here’s where things get interesting. I always had a HUGE crush on Zach who gets introduced in this one and now, I need Noah Centineo to play him in the movie or tv show version that I have been promised for YEARS. I could just hear him saying the dialogue.
Beautiful on the Outside by Adam Rippon—A fun, laugh out loud, but also very sentimental memoir. I listened via libro.fm and it was such a great read while cleaning and organizing. Highly recommend! Thank you Libro.fm for the free listen!
I’m currently reading book 3 in the Gallagher Girl series and will continue to reread my favorite comfort reads. I know I need to dive into new reads soon (my stack of review copies isn’t getting any smaller) but it’s important to honor our own needs right now.
My favorite rereads (if I don’t mention them enough):
