At Home Workouts
Alright we are officially 9 days in our isolation/quarantine situation and in the last week we have learned that the only way to deal with all of this is take it hour by hour. I’m grateful we are home with each other but this is not an easy situation at all. We are starting to begin talking about what will happen if we need to postpone or cancel our wedding (which is heartbreaking—if you are a bride you have EVERY right to your feelings. We are devastated) and how we will move forward, depending on how long this goes.
I’m sure you’ve seen everyone’s updates and lists on how they are coping. A lot of people are sharing at home workouts and physical activity that has helped them break up the day and feel a little more normal.
Not going to lie, the extent of my physical activity last week were walks in our courtyard ( & to the liquor store) but this week I feel like I’m in a better headspace to make a more definite schedule for myself. That will include some home workouts!
I used to do home workouts all the time when I lived in my brownstone apartment. I definitely was spoiled in the months since we moved to have a full gym at my disposal and shockingly, I MISS it! I miss going to the gym, who knew?!
Here are some of my favorite at home workouts that use minimal to no equipment!
Fitness Blender’s YouTube channel—So many options for all levels!
305 Fitness—One of my favorite NYC dance workout studios that you can do from your own home!
Barre Workout—I grew up dancing, so I love any chance I get to feel grounded in something I know! Plus it’s such a great workout!
Yoga with Adriene—I asked friends for recommendations and Adrienne came HIGHLY recommended! I can’t wait to try out her videos!
Blogilates—Another one I haven’t tried but people seem to love!
There are so many options out there and if you have equipment at home, even better! But these are all great options for those of us who don’t have a ton of room or a ton of weights! Hope they help—I’m looking forward to doing some meditation!
