Wedding Wednesday: Invitation Tips
Wedding Wednesday—New Episode of Read it or List it
We are wrapping up our Romance series on Read it or List it today, so make sure to check it out on Spotify and Apple Podcast! We’re going to be diving into a new series soon, but don’t worry, we’ll be discussing romance and our favorite romance reads again!
It’s also another Wedding Wednesday and they are slowly dwindling! I want to talk invitations today because ours are almost done at the calligrapher and I cannot wait to send them out, because it means the day is getting closer and closer! (pause for heart palpitations).
Honestly, I can’t believe it’s so close. I feel like I blinked and 2019 ended and now we are FLYING through 2020. It’s crazy.
When it comes to invitations, it was important to me to pick them out in person at a local shop in my hometown. We had a pretty simple vision for them: clean, classic, timeless. And Mary and the Party Party team certainly delivered!
I can’t wait to share the final product, but I thought it was definitely something I wasn’t sure how to prepare for. Here are a few tips to keep in mind:
Final Guest Count
Remember, you’re sending ONE invitation to most people. So if you have a guest list of 200, you don’t need 200 invitation, since most of your guests will be couples or families. Don’t overbuy!
Before buying stamps, take a full invitation suite to the post office and weigh it, so you know how many stamps it will take
Include a stamp on the reply card
Have your wording figured out
Pick something that fits the style of your wedding. Ours is Black Tie/Formal, so it was important that the invitation reflected that
Information—include important information on a separate “details” card so nothing gets lost in the shuffle!
If you’ve planned a wedding or large event before, you’re my hero! It’s a lot of work and I totally have a new respect for even planners!
