Review Round Up

I love doing these little review round ups! Let me know what you think of them. I tend to do dedicated reviews on my Instagram page but here I think it’s nice to include a couple books per posts. I appreciate any and all feedback!

Open Book by Jessica Simpson—WOW I loved this book and I truly respect Jessica Simpson for opening up in this way. A big question that people have is, “Did she write it herself?” And the answer is no. She utilized a ghost writer and has been VERY open about it. But don’t let that change your mind on if you should read it—you should. It is vulnerable and raw, but also really funny and has that special Jessica Simpson sparkle you can only get from her. Also, it’s dishy and juicy and spares no one, even herself. 5 Stars.

In Five Years by Rebecca Serle—This book totally surprised me. I’d seen it quite hyped up but didn’t really know much about it—I assumed it was a romance. It’s not. It is so much more than a love story and I had to sit with the story for a few days after finishing it. Ultimately, 4 stars. It’s a small book that packs a punch! In Five Years publishes on March 3, 2020. Thank you Atria Books for my copy!

Oona Out of Order by Margarita Montimore—This is a perfect example of why I don’t enjoy fiction on audio. I think I would have loved this book if I read a physical copy but it definitely wasn’t the case listening to it. I’d have to say that if you enjoyed Where’d You Go Bernadette or Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine, I think you’ll enjoy this one. 3.5 stars. Oona Out of Order publishes on February 25, 2020.  Thank you Libro.fm, Macmillan Audio, Flatiron Books, and Margarita Montimore for my copy!

Wild at Heart by K.A. Tucker—I mean…do I even need to say it? 5 stars, loved this book. It’s the kind of sequel that really stands up to the first book. It’s different in some ways, a little less steam, but it’s delightful to return to Alaska with Calla and Jonah.

What are you reading right now? I need help choosing my next book!
