Weekly Wrap Up 12-18-20
As I sat down the write this week’s Weekly Wrap Up, I was like, “just another week in 2020, here’s my boring update” and then I remembered that this week is not boring at all. This week, the first vaccines for Covid-19 were administered and I began to weep.
This year has been so dark. I have gone through phases of being addicted to the news, waiting for more bad news every time my phone pings. But this week, those pings brought back some hope.
Seeing nurses and doctors receive the first dose of the vaccine was a huge light in the darkness. The pandemic is far from over. Masks are still necessary, Socially distancing is still necessary. But the people who have weathered this storm and tirelessly worked to care for the nation, are receiving the vaccine.
I really never thought we’d see the day. Find some of these happy moments below!
Now, onto the “normal” week…
Our week started out with a really exciting football game and a Bills win for Monday night football! We were so wired and could barely sleep after, but it was worth it. This weekend, I’m looking forward to really leaning into the holiday spirit! We’ve been isolating in preparation to travel to see my family for Christmas so this cozy weekend at home will be perfect for some cookie baking, present wrapping, and gingerbread house building.
Discoveries
The KOBO App so I could read Wrapped Up In You by Talia Hibbert. Now I want a KOBO—It’s an e-reader! I currently read on the Kindle App on my iPad but I’d love a true ereader.
What I Read
One Way Or Another by Kara McDowell
Kingdom of Flesh and Fire by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Wrapped Up In You by Talia Hibbert
Merry Inkmas by Talia Hibbert
Faking Under the Mistletoe by Ashley Sheppard—A reread of a favorite from last year!
Christmas-ing
We’re going on another socially distant date to look at Christmas lights this weekend! We’re going to bring some hot cocoa with us so we don’t have to stop anywhere and then drive around in the snow! I’m excited. Plus, this is going to be cookie baking weekend. I’m not going to go overboard, I just want to make a few of my favorites like Snowdrops and Claire’s Lemon Meltaways!
I’m also going to wrap presents this weekend! I also watch my favorite movie, White Christmas, while I wrap. It’s a family classic and really special to us. My Papa, my mom’s dad, looked just like Bing Crosby!
