Weekly Wrap Up 11-27-20

The final Friday of November. Wow, this year has flown by and I know I say that every week, but it truly has. Anyone else feel like we should all get a redo for our birthdays because we didn’t get to do anything this year? My birthday is the end of December and I’m already calling a redo.

This was a big week for Read & Wright and I’m excited, exhausted, and ready for this next phase. I’m feeling so full and grateful, plus feeling all the cheesy, warm feelings that this milestone occurred the week of Thanksgiving in the United States.

If you celebrated the holiday, I hope you were able to spend some safe or virtual time with those you love. Nick and I had a wonderfully relaxing and warm day. I was really pleased with how our meal turned out, I cried over the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and we ended the day by putting up our Christmas tree and watching Happiest Season. I highly recommend it!

Here’s what else I was up to this week:

Reading

I finished 3 books! Here are some quick mini reviews

How to Fail at Flirting by Denise Williams—This was such a surprise! It’s a romance that handles intimate partner violence. Despite the heavy topic, it is still sweet, sexy, and fun. It’s out December 1 and you’re going to want this one! Thank you Berkley Romance for my early copy.

All I Want for Christmas by Wendy Loggia—This is such a sweet little YA Christmas story. Is it cheesy as heck? Yes. Is it still so fun? 100%.
A Princess for Christmas by Jenny Holiday—If you’ve ever wanted a Hallmark movie to turn up the steam, you’ll love this book! Its sweet and steamy plus hilarious because it’s very self aware. Thank you Avon Books for my copy!

Currently Reading: Troubles in Paradise, Tower of Dawn, Forever Wild

Watching

The Crown Season 4—I am OBSESSED with this season. I think it was so well cast. The acting, the costumes, it was all phenomenal.

The Queen’s Gambit—I might be late to the game but holy cow, this show is so good! It’s only 7 episodes and reminded me a lot of Mad Men and The Crown. It’s very atmospheric and quirky.

Shopping

It’s official. My airpods are gone. I am so upset about it but feeling really lucky that I was sent a new pair to try from Sudio. I tried their Tolv pair before but I didn’t love them. The ETT model remind me more of AirPods and they’re a really great deal for the price of wireless headphones. If you’re looking for a new pair or for a gift, they shared a code with me for you to use! The entire site is 25% off and with code readandwright you can get an extra 10% off!

Christmas-ing-Shopping Small

Merry Bookmas Sweatshirt—There are so many fantastic small shops that I love to support! Bookchick T-shirts is one of them. I needed this sweatshirt, right?

Stay Home and Read 2020—I mean, is there a more appropriate ornament for 2020? I LOVE these and I’m obsessed with how they look on the tree in my study!

Happy Go Lovely Sleeves—You know I’m obsessed with these book sleeves! A friend of mine called it a “book koozie” once and I loved it. Everything is 25% off through the weekend! These are my favorites: Music Notes, Tropical Leaves, Citrus

And don’t forget, #TisTheReadson begins this weekend! We cannot wait to get started!
