Weekly Wrap Up 8-2-19
For the first time in a very long time, I didn’t finish a book this week. A week ago, we were with our best friends and some of Nick’s family, which didn’t really warrant reading time. And when we were in the car, I just didn’t feel like picking up my book.
Does that ever happen to you? We all have these weeks when our favorite thing doesn’t bring us joy. And last weekend, that was me.
Which is CRAZY because now that I am totally invested in Mrs. Everything, I wish I had taken advantage of our car rides! It is totally gripping, heartbreaking and though provoking. In fact, I think it is a brilliant companion to Three Women by Lisa Taddeo and it’s really making me rethink my initial review of that book.
It’s making me think about how we view things written in a fictional way as opposed to nonfiction and I think I unfairly judged Three Women. But, more on that when I finish Mrs. Everything and can write up a full review.
This weekend should be a lot of fun, since we’re traveling home to CT to pick out our Save the Dates and try on wedding bands. We’ll get to hang out with my family and see one of my best friends, who also happens to be a bridesmaid!
I hope you all have a great Friday and a restful, relaxing weekend. I need a morning off something awful, so you’ll find me sleeping in tomorrow and doing a little reading by the pool before we travel!
