Review Round Up

Last week, I shared that I finished three books last week and today I wanted to write up some reviews of them! I don’t always stay on top of full fledged reviews, but one of my goals is to be better about it!

Blind Dates, Bridesmaids, and Other Disasters—4 Stars

If you love rom coms, but are not a fan of wild sex scenes, you’ll LOVE this book. It has all the heart and humor of a rom com, but no graphic sex. I’m not a prude, but sometimes I’m not looking to read erotica, ya know? The characters are fun and totally relatable (James is so dreamy) and the premise is totally sweet. It’s the perfect light, romantic read that leaves you totally sucked in and needing to know more.

I’m Not Dying with You Tonight—3 Stars

Eh, I’m giving this one 3 stars for dealing with an important topic but overall I wasn’t really feeling this book. I didn’t like how immature the writing felt, even for YA, and just felt it wasn’t executed properly.

Full Disclosure—4 Stars

I chose this one to try out the YA Book of the Month (you can get a free book if you sign up with my link!) and it did not disappoint. After finishing Over the Top, I’ve been interested in learning more about HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment. In this book, a high school junior is living with HIV and trying to balance having a normal life and a totally abnormal life. The writing was pretty typical YA but it’s educational value for young people outweighs it. This one hits shelves October 29 and I hope everyone reads it!
