What I Read in March 2024

March was full of 5 star reads and I can’t truly believe it. I feel like it’s been so long since I was in a reading groove full of amazing books. I was able to read so many of my most anticipated reads of the year, which probably helped! But I also just read the books that made my brain spin with joy. Books that inspired me and made me want to get lost in my own writing. Books are so incredible and I’m totally nerding out in this wrap up, but alas. I loved this month.

Even If It Breaks Your Heart by Erin Hahn

Oh my goodness, this book broke my heart and put it back together. It’s got a new adult vibe but is closed door and set on a ranch. I loved it.

Happy Medium by Sarah Adler

Add it to the favorites list! Sarah Adler is an autobuy author for me. Her romances are SO CLEVER and I just love them so much. It’s about a woman who has pretended to communicate with the “other side” and when she is sent to a farm to help rid it of a ghost, she finds she can talk to one ghost in particular…and the handsome owner of the farm.

The Partner Plot by Kristina Forest

Cute! Second chance, meddling family, celebrity star power.

Happily Never After by Lynne Painter

Very sadly a no from me. I think it was the audio performance for me…it felt like a parody of a romance novel to me! But literally every other person I know loved it.

Built to Last by Erin Hahn

I’ve been putting off reading this for awhile and I loved the home improvement/reality show aspect. But it also had a lot going on that I don’t think it needed. Sometimes simplicity is best!

The Guncle Abroad by Steven Rowley

I LOVED being back with these characters. I didn’t love it as much as the first book, which is utter magic, but I love these people and the voice of this author.

The Breakup Vacation by Anna Gracia

All the right ingredients, not a fan of the execution.

Blitz by Devney Perry

I loved the first book in this series so much as I love football and the world of football. And while I was entertained by this book, I struggle with “forbidden” romances sometimes. The characters are of age in this book but I don’t know!

Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez

Love love love. Abby just gets better and better with each book. I thought this idea was so fun, which got the book off to a solid start. But then the story expanded and included so much more than just the inciting incident. I loved it and thought it was so well done.

This Could Be Us by Kennedy Ryan

I didn’t love this one as much as Before I Let Go, but I still loved how complex and juicy this book was. It was full of character development and deep, heart wrenching moments while still being interesting and moving.

Funny Story by Emily Henry

I loved it. Happy Place is still my number 1 I think, but I am obsessed with MIle and Daphne so much.

Finally Fitz by Marisa Kanter

An absolutely delightful YA summer romance set in NYC. It’s a fake dating/second chance romance!

A Love Song for Ricki Wilde by Tia Williams

All I can say is WOW. This book was incredible. I loved how complex this story was, along with a wonderful romance. It’s magical and mystical, full of the rich history of the Harlem Renaissance period and laced with William’s addictive writing.

Shakespeare: The Man Who Pays the Rent by Judi Dench and Brendan O’Hea

This book was INCREDIBLE. An acting masterclass and a deep analysis of Shakespeare’s work. The audio is so charming because Judi Dench GIGGLES at all times. It was an absolute delight. Out 4/23!
