Tis the Readson: 2024 Holiday Readathon

The last four years, I’ve hosted a month long Readathon in December called Tis the Readson. This year, I didn’t have the capacity to plan it but I miss the energy and when I looked at my schedule for Winter Break this year, I realized we could do a week long Readathon instead! I’m actually more excited for this version of the Tis the Readson than doing the whole month. I think I will enjoy hosting and participating more because it will be a concentrated amount of time and I won’t be trying to “fit it in” around the busy end of school year calendar.

Here’s what to look forward to!

  1. Daily Reading Sprints

Reading Sprints are my favorite way to shut off the noise of the world and really focus on my book. A reading sprint is one hour of concentrated reading. I’ll share the schedule in advance so if you’d like to participate, you can read along with me.

  2. 24 Readathon

I have always wanted to do one of these and I think this will be the perfect time to challenge myself to do it! I think it will be mighty fun and cozy. There are different ways people do it, but I will be setting a timer for 24 hours and running it while I’m reading. I’ll probably stop it while I sleep because I won’t be able to stay up all night. If that sounds confusing, check out this video from one of my favorite YouTubers, Sierra Shutlzzie.

  3. A Holiday Giveaway and Thank You

I haven’t done a giveaway in forever, mainly because it was a way people were hacking accounts or trying to trick followers into giving personal information so they could get scammed. My account is very precious to me so I never wanted to take any chances. But I think that has calmed down significantly and I want to put together a fun giveaway of my favorite bookish items to say thank you!

  4. Cozy Days in My Life

In a perfect world, I’ll daily vlog…I think I might definitely daily vlog on TikTok, but I don’t know if the IG audience will be into that kind of content! But I’ll be sharing in my stories and in feed all the cozy reading days leading up to Christmas.

  5. Holiday Cheer

Movies, wrapping presents, cookie baking and decorating, holiday parties, and more. We are going to be HOLLY JOLLY.
