Subscription Gifts for Readers
If you’re overwhelmed by Christmas being a week and Hanukkah starting on the 26th, and need some ideas for gifts you can get online that readers will love, look no further! I think getting a subscription to an audiobook service, a gift card that supports independent bookstores, or a book subscription box is truly a perfect gift. Plus, there’s no shipping times you need to compete with and it’s not something that they’ll think is just junk. I think that is definitely I have been struggling with as I’ve gotten older. I don’t want people to give me gifts just to give me something. And I don’t want to contribute to consumerism or give people stuff they don’t want!
When did gift cards become a faux pas? I think it’s the most respectful gift to give because it allows the recipient to use it how they need, versus how you think it should be used!
Libro.fm
My very favorite way to listen to audiobooks is through Libro! Not only do I love their app, but every sale supports the independent bookstore of your choice.
Everand
This serviced used to be called Scribd and quietly rebranded this year. I still don’t know why. But I still love to use it for audiobooks! They also have magazines, podcasts, sheet music, plays. I’ve used it for years!
Aardvark Book Box
A book subscription box for every reader!
The Steam Box
But if you know a Romance reader, this is such a great gift and it really celebrates diversity within the genre. Books and self care, a perfect gift for a friend, sister, or partner who loves a happily ever after.
Bookshop.org Gift Cards
I love Bookshop.org because they are another e-commerce option that, like Libro.fm, supports independent bookstores. Books are slightly discounted and they run free shipping events a few prime times a year.
