Books like The Parent Trap

One of my favorite summer movies, and movies of all time, is The Parent Trap. It’s a classic by Nancy Meyers, and it one of my comfort stories for sure. Growing up, we had a small VHS TV that my parents brought on road trips for us. Yes, this was before portable DVD players and we didn’t have a built in TV in our car. But every Summer, my parents would let me keep the TV in my room for a week or two. I watched The Parent Trap on REPEAT. Fell asleep to it at night, would get ready with it on in the mornings. I was obsessed. Now, I don’t think there is a true book version, but the twin hijinks and the fabulous Elizabeth James vibes can be achieved. As well as the single dad trope, the camp vibes, and the Napa setting!
