YA Summer Reading List
I can’t help but get excited for all the new YA coming out. I’m so excited to see all the representation that is included and I just know there are young people are getting the stories they need to be their best and true selves. Some of these are on my reading list and others I’ve read, but they are perfect Summer reads. Whether you’re choosing to read them yourself or you’re gifting them to a young person in your life, I hope they bring you joy and add to your Summer reading!
Imogen, Obviously by Becky Albertalli
A queer coming of age story set on a college campus.
Never Vacation With Your Ex by Emily Wibberly and Austin Sigmund-Brokka
A little second chance romance set on the beach!
Girls Like Girls by Hayley Kiyoko
This is a summery YA that’s based on the singer’s hit song!
Going Bicoastal by Dahlia Adler
I am obsessed with this cover! Experience two summers in alternate timelines as Natayla chooses between Summer in NYC with her dad and her crush or with her mom in LA where she knows no one, but can truly be herself.
Spice Road by Maiya Ibrahim
Sometimes Summer is for a new fantasy! This is described as an epic, so I’m intrigued.
Something Close to Magic by Emma Mills
This sounds SO good and so cozy, which is also a vibe for Summer.
The Unstoppable Bridget Bloom by Allison L. Blitz
I love boarding school, I love to see body positivity, and I love stories about young performers! Sounds like a winner to me.
I Like Me Better by Robby Weber
A swoony summer soccer romance!
The Girl Next Door by Cecilia Vinesse
I have to say, I was immediately drawn in to this book because of cover. It’s billed as a queer version of To All the Boys I Loved Before, which is one of my favorite books and movies!

Another cover I couldn’t get over! An enemies to lovers romance set during Trinidad’s Carnival festival.
