Weekly Wrap Up 2/17/23

I hope you all had a lovely Valentine’s week! There’s something special about the days after Halloween and Valentine’s with all the leftover chocolate. This week isn’t nearly over and next week I’m directing a children’s show during the February break! I’ve missed my evenings off to read, but it’s been really creatively fulfilling.

Last week, I wrote about reading when it time feels impossible in my newsletter and it inspired me to keep plugging long in my routines to make more time for it. It truly does calm me. Even though I spent the end of the week reading one of my most anticipated releases of the year that disappointed me. As an amateur writer, I try to be really careful with how I critique books because I know how hard it is to write one. But there was a spark missing from Just My Type that Lease on Love had and it made me sad!

But, it is also to remember that just because something didn’t work for me doesn’t mean it won’t work for you. It’s a tough balance as I share my reading life because I never want anyone to miss out a book that could be perfect for them. Ah, books. Utter magic.

Weekend Plans:

I’m in tech this weekend and I’m going to see the Into the Woods tour! It’s my FAVORITE show and I saw it in New York in August with most of the City Center cast but I’m excited to see the touring cast! It’s a busy busy weekend but I’m loving it. Happy reading!
