Best of the Year: Top 10 Purchases of 2023

While I am looking to spend significantly less money in 2024, I did acquire a few items this year that I love and made a huge difference in my everyday life. I have a lot of goals for 2024 financials, but one of the big items is that i really want to focus on it being a low buy year. I need very few things and I feel like I’ve been saying this for a long time, but I am exhausted by excess. I want to be able to save more and not feel like I’m drowning in “things” all the time.

But if you’re in the market for any of these items or have gift cards you’d like to spend, I highly recommend these and I look forward to decluttering my financial life in 2024.

Walking Pad

Truly so nice to have in my home office! I even like to use it when I read on my Kindle. I notice that I have better focus when I use it and I reach for my phone less during the work day, which is something I’ve been trying to cut back on as well.

My Favorite Planner

It’s taken me a long time to find the perfect planner for my brain and this is IT! I found it at the start of last year and I truly love it so much. I used to be one of the kids that loved decorating my agenda during school and keeping my monthly calendar organized and festive. But obviously life gets in the way and now, I love it so much I start every week with a little time to make it pretty and perfect, while also keeping my To Do list organized and stay on task.

Hoka Rincon 3 Running Shoes

Me: Expensive running shoes can’t make that much of a difference

Also me: THESE ARE THE BEST THINGS I’VE EVER PUT ON MY FEET

I cannot get over what a difference these shoes have made for me on my running journey. So worth it. I also love wearing them backstage when I work at the theater and they saved my life during long days during the Summer.

Cross Legged Desk Chair

As someone who hates to sit like an adult, this chair is everything. It’s even comfy to read in.

Owala Free Sip

I love my Stanley, but for travel and when I need to have a water bottle to throw in my bag, this thing is a life saver. It’s the perfect water bottle, honestly.

Sharpie Pens

It’s not a favorites list for me unless there’s pens and/or stationery. I LOVE these pens. I got them for my favorite translucent post it notes but now I love to use them for everything.

Lake Pajamas Set

I never thought I’d want to invest in nice pajamas, but wow do these pajamas make me look forward to going to bed at the end of the day. I have three pairs now (two Christmas prints, one Summer print) and they are very much a “treat yourself” purchase but they make a fabulous gift for the person who has everything. They’re cotton but so silky. They feel like a lake side vacation every time I put them on.

CalPak Luka Bag

2023 was a big year of travel for me and I’m so glad I purchased this duffle bag. I love the shape, how much it fits, and that fits under the seat when I fly.

Kindle Oasis

Honestly, i’m a little surprised this made my list. When I purchased it this Summer, I wasn’t sold that it was worth it. I still reached for my paperwhite more. But in the last month of the year, I started to read on it more and you know what? It’s amazing. It’s so nice to be able to switch the screen orientation depending on how I’m holding it. It still is light and portable for travel and I love it.

Skincare Kit

I love this kit from Laneige so much and it’s been really nice to have a solid morning and nighttime routine, finally.

Subscriptions:

Libro.fm

Forever a favorite! I can’t recommend this service enough. You can support the independent bookstore of your choice and get access to the best audiobooks. It’s also my favorite listening service app.

Kindle Unlimited

A perfect service to support indie authors but also read a lot of books you aren’t sure about! If I love a book on KU, I usually will purchase a physical copy to support the author.

I’d love to know what items you purchased in 2023 that improved some aspect of your life!
