What I Read in December 2023
I don’t normally do a December reading wrap up but I there are a few books I wanted to make sure I shared mini reviews of. December was a joyous season and is ending a very sad and scary note for us. I’m trying to take things one minute at a time and I’m very grateful for books during this challenging time. I hope you had a wonderful holiday season and are looking forward to a fresh new year.
Lovelight Farms by BK Borison (reread)
This book was even better the second time and can be enjoyed any time of year!
Faking Under the Mistletoe by Ashley Shepherd (reread)
For sure a Christmassy read but one that always makes me smile.
Technically Yours by Denise Williams
My new obsession! I loved this book and I really think it’s some of Denise’s best writing.
Holiday Romance by Catherine Walsh
This was so surprisingly good! It’s like a Christmassy version of People We Meet on Vacation. I loved it!
Second Chances in New Port Stephen by TJ Alexander
I LOVED this book and definitely can be enjoyed all year long.
Out on a Limb by Hannah Bonam Young
Wow, this is as good as everyone said it was. I really loved it. I loved the dialogue and the story. The epilogue left me in a puddle of joyful tears.
A Newport Christmess by Jess Heileman
My New Englander heart had to read this book set in Newport. It was cute! I did the audio so it was easy listening but I don’t know if I would have liked it as an eyeball read.
The Merry Mischief List by Hailey Dickert
This spicy novella is the perfect quick read for a holiday weekend.
Faking Christmas by Cindy Steel
This was SO cute and fun. I love fake dating so much. It’s an elite trope, especially for a festive book
The Trouble with Tinsel by Keith and Juliet Giglio
This author duo keeps pulling me in with their titles, premises, and covers…and every time the books aren’t for me. I did not like this one, it lacked any connection between the characters and the writing was eh.
