November Bucket List

I’m going to tell you a secret: November is one of my favorite months of the entire year. November is the penultimate month of the year and it’s the last stretch of time before the stress of the holidays truly sets in, the “best of” lists come out and the “lasts” start piling up. I love November’s quiet. I love that the time changes and it’s getting dark early (but I wish that changed come January!). My world gets cozy and quiet and it brings me such joy.

This month, i want to soak in that quiet and cozy comfort. I want to enjoy every moment, get ready for Christmas and enjoy a sweet Thanksgiving break. So November, bring it on. I’m ready for you.

  1. Participate and Complete NaNoWriMo 2023

I had a BLAST writing during last year’s NaNoWriMo, National Novel Writing Month. There’s just something about the energy that really gets me going. I’m planning on taking a break from what I’ve been editing and writing a new idea that’s been floating around my brain for a couple years.

  2. Share my 2023 Holiday Reading Guide

Coming the Monday before American Thanksgiving!

  3. Decorate My Office for Christmas

We save the rest of our home for the Thanksgiving weekend, but my little oasis gets the holiday treatment ASAP!

  4. Finish Holiday Shopping

I never want to be shopping in December, unless it’s for little things. I love to enjoy December!

  5. Read a Book in One Sitting

I typically save a special holiday book for Thanksgiving weekend to enjoy in one sitting. Right now, I’m leaning toward rereading Faking Under the Mistletoe, a book that always brings me the most joy.

  6. Journal Daily/30 Days of Thanks

I have really struggled with my journal in 2023. I used to do a 30 Days of Thanks when I was younger and I think I want to use that model to help get me back into my journaling habit.

  7. Turkey Trot

When I started getting into running this year, one of my inspirations/goals was to run a turkey trot. I know they get a lot of flack on social media, but if Thanksgiving is a beautiful day, I feel like it’s such a great opportunity to make the most of the day!

  8. Holiday Movie Night

We always watch a new Christmas movie on the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend! We make a fun drink, have leftover pie for dessert and watch something festive. This year I’m not sure what we’ll pick but in the past we’ve enjoyed The Christmas Chronicles, Bad Moms Christmas and The Office Party.

  9. Order our Holiday Cards

I didn’t get around to ordering or sending any last year so I want to prioritize it this year!

  10. Matching Pajamas

I started this tradition for us last year, but we do matching family pajamas on Thanksgiving night!

Let me know what’s on your list for this month!
