Weekly Wrap Up 8/19/22

Happy Friday from NYC!!!

I won’t lie, this week was difficult. I suffered a professional rejection that was closer than one I’ve had in a long time. I hate feeling down, especially when it’s over something I can’t control. But it’s also important to feel our feelings, right? So I had a good cry, wrote out my feelings and didn’t try to rush it. Honestly, I am still really bummed. Sometimes I wonder why I have a career that is totally dependent on rejection and the opinions of others but…I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Especially because we’re back in NYC for the first time since we moved. It is so surreal to be back but it also feels like I never left. Nick and I both had work trips that fell at the same time and it’s so special to be back where we had our first home together and established our careers in professional theatre. It was all we dreamed of back when we met in college.

Weekend Plans:

We’re in NYC this weekend! I can’t believe it! I haven’t been back since we moved because it was so heartbreaking in the way that we had to leave. But, Nick and I both had work trips which was the best way to make our return. I also am planning on catching a few shows and it will be my first time in a Broadway Theatre since March 2020. Wild. I’m sure it will be hard to leave again come Sunday, but I’m ready to be back.
